A Poet's Life

GratitudeToday I am grateful for the gift of having a warm place to sleep when it’s cold outside. Though I live in Florida and rarely feel it is cold enough to know I could freeze to death if I had to live outside, I realize how different it is in states where winter brings with it profound elemental changes. I’m in Tennessee and during the day it’s 35 degrees. I can’t imagine how the homeless here deal with that kind of weather. It gets so cold at night I understand the reality of people that live on the streets dying from hypothermia. I think we should all be very grateful to have a home, food, and the gift of family and friends. It’s always so easy to bemoan what we don’t have.

Rethink it…
